CULVER SQUARE
11.30 Grand opening with his Worshipful the Mayor, Cllr. Henry Spyvee,  the  Town Crier “Among the Best” Bob Needham, Bob Russell MP, Dee Evans, of The Gift project/Colchester 2020 and event director Dorian Kelly.
11.35 A brief but dazzling introduction of Samba Drumming from Essex Samba, a Rio Samba drumming band. before they process  via Sir Issaac’s Walk and Eld Lane to the Baptist Church Forecourt.
11.45 Nepalese Dancing from the Colchester Nepalese Society.
12.30 Flamenco from Catherine Fox.
1.15 Traditional dance from Annie’s Fantasies N.W.Clog and Westrefelda Morris.
2.00 Belly dancers, American Tribal Style from Akula Tribal Bellydance.

THE CENTRAL LIBRARY:
12.30 A free concert by "Rubenstein Trunk",  a trio who have temporarily split up to explore the wilder reaches of the University system but who have agreed to reform to bring a "Short Concert of World Music with home made instruments" to the Colchester public. The home made instruments are violins, cellos dulcimers, plus other things to blow, suck and scrape made from plywood and packing cases. Surprisingly tuneful and melodic, their repertoire ranges from wild Gypsy music to new takes on old classics.
1.30 The Battle of Maldon- a one man re-enactment  with special medieval audio visual aids, by ‘The Amazing Addrian’.
