Currently Technical Director of Cloud Cuckoo Land and Performing Arts Lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Emma Kelly will be available for work from summer 2008.

Emma is a talented lighting and costume designer specialising in creating amazing effects on a low budget, using non-standard equipment and materials in unexpected ways, such as overhead projectors, fibre optics, electroluminescent materials, LEDs, UV sources and other luminaires. Working with all sorts of talented artists and musicians, Emma is able to to create weird and wonderful sensory dream-worlds for everyday folk to enjoy. Emma also creates puppets, scenery, projection surfaces... and a LOT of interesting and unusual ideas!

Particularly enjoying site-specific theatre and devised ensemble productions, Emma is an excellent Stage Manager with a proven track record on large and small scale productions. Always searching for new challenges, she specialises in finding workable solutions for practical problems - when it comes to theatrical effects, she works on the principle that anything is do-able...until proved otherwise!

Emma is also an accomplished seamstress, providing a bespoke wedding dress service, designs, fittings and alterations. Also designing and making one-off handbags, purses, soft furnishings and jewellery, using a wide variety of handicraft techniques.

  • Performing Arts Lecturer and Department Technician, teaching Stage Lighting, Stage Sound and Technical Stage Operations to 16-18 year olds on the BTEC National Performing Arts course at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Dolgellau, Gwynedd
